Strategy and communications expert Pirita Näkkäläjärvi has started as an advisor to Luontoa. In her work, Pirita focuses on combining corporate responsibility with corporate financial targets. In addition, her expertise further strengthens Luontoa’s unique expertise related to the rights of indigenous peoples and their link with corporate responsibility.
“Pirita’s vast and international experience in management positions and as a consultant working with themes such as corporate strategy and communications, mergers and acquisitions, as well as corporate investments strengthen Luontoa’s business expertise and improves our ability to embed companies’ ambitious sustainability goals into their overall strategy. I am also happy that through Pirita our already unique expertise in the rights of indigenous peoples and the Sámi will be strengthened. This opens up new opportunities for our customers, for example, related to industrial investment projects required by the green transition, mergers and acquisitions, and new business opportunities”, says Inka Musta, CEO of Luontoa.
Pirita Näkkäläjärvi sees a lot of opportunities in this newly formed cooperation.
“For a long time, I have been combining my work in the business world and in politics. For example, I have worked with companies in the energy sector developing wind power whilst simultaneously being able to provide information about the rights of indigenous peoples. Recently, I have also been an advisor in the climate repair debate. Advocacy on multiple fronts is important to ensure that the green transition is just for all, and that actions to combat biodiversity loss and adaptation to climate change do not trample on the rights of indigenous peoples. Through Luontoa Consulting, I get to work with companies to solve the biggest challenges of our time in an agile but impactful manner”, says Pirita Näkkäläjärvi.
Pirita Näkkäläjärvi has a unique profile combining global business and indigenous advocacy through media and politics. Pirita can build bridges between different worlds because she understands both the business world and the perspectives of rightsholders and stakeholders. Pirita has previously worked at EY-Parthenon, PwC Strategy&, Booz & Company and Merrill Lynch, as well as Helen, Metso and Nokia. In addition, Pirita has worked as the editor of Sámi language content at the Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle and she is an elected member of the Sámi Parliament in Finland. Pirita holds Master’s degrees in Economics and Business Administration from Helsinki School of Economics (now Aalto), and in Media and Communications (with Distinction) from London School of Economics.
Luontoa Consulting is an agile, capable and ambitious partner for organizations of all sizes in implementing their own sustainability breakthrough. We are adept with the requirements of corporate sustainability and know how to reconcile them with business goals.
