M.Sc. (Econ.) Pinja Suomela joined Luontoa in July as Leading Expert on Supply Chain Sustainability. She brings solid experience from her previous role as Sustainability Manager at Neste.
With Pinja Suomela joining the team, Luontoa strengthens its expertise in value and supply chain sustainability and due diligence processes. She brings a strong background in biodiversity and human rights work, as well as in developing sourcing practices in the context of international industrial companies.
– Pinja’s expertise offers us a new perspective on how to practically measure, verify, and manage the nature-related and other impacts of long and global supply chains. This boosts our ability to help clients tackle nature and human rights issues where the impacts actually occur, says Luontoa’s CEO Inka Musta.

Before joining Neste, Pinja worked e.g. on water and circular economy projects at ELY Centre (Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment). During her studies, she focused on supply chain management, responsible business, and environmental sciences. Her work experience and education give her a strong understanding of how buying companies can collaborate with their suppliers to enhance sustainability across the entire supply chain.
